We had an opportunity to catch up with two of the stars from the movie, Sparks and Oschino. These two talented brothers gave us the inside track on their edgy new film and hot soundtrack.
CA: So, tell me a little about the movie "State Property" Sparks: The movie is based on a true story about organized crime in Philly. The organization does not play when it comes to making money and you either roll with us or get rolled over. Oschino: It’s an action film about Beans (Beanie Sigel) and Baby Boy (Sparks) getting money through organized crime. CA: Can you give me a brief description of your character? Sparks: I am Beans’ right hand man and I go by the name Baby Boy. Oschino: I portrayed the character of D-Nice, a young man just being released from prison that gets down with the squad. CA: What was your favorite scene from the movie? Oschino: My favorite scene is when we were all at the basketball court and a shoot out started. CA: Was this your first time on the big screen and if so how was the experience for you? Sparks: Yes, this was my first time doing a movie, the experience was great because I was like a natural. The movie was a portrayal of everyday street life and that is something that I can easily relate to. CA: Do you plan on taking more roles in the future? Sparks: I hope so I really enjoyed it, so if there are any writers or producers looking let me know. Oschino: Yes, I had a lot of fun doing the movie and look forward to taking on as many roles as possible. CA: Which do you enjoy most, acting or recording? Sparks: I prefer recording the most because it’s easier for me to express myself through my music. Through music I can let people know exactly what I am feeling. Oschino: I really love music and recording because that is where it al started. CA: How was it working with Jay-Z and the rest of the Roc-A-Fella family? Oschino: It was cool, this has been my family for awhile so it was basically like an everyday thing. It’s like working with my brothers. It’s nothing to me, he (Jay-Z) may be a star to others but to me he is just my brother. CA: Do you foresee the movie expanding into other markets? Sparks: I am not real sure on that, you know everyone has opinions and some may think that the movie is too rough you know too much gangster style but it made it here. Basically it all depends on the press release and how that goes. CA: Now about the soundtrack, Whom can we expect to hear on it? Sparks: The soundtrack is crazy, I features Freeway, Youngguns, Beans, Oschino and myself. CA: Is there anything else you would like for everyone to know about your new movie or soundtrack? Oschino: Yea, go see the movie and grab the soundtrack they are both hot.
