Oh So Complicated

Nivea is on the brink of metamorphosis. She is encompassing a diversity of roles all at once. She is a new wife, a mother to be and a serious career woman in control of her own destiny. To call her complicated is understatement, but that is the best way to describe her current state, which is also the title of her new album. As this young songstress matures so does her look, her style and her music. " There's definitely more R&B and more mature vocals [on this album], and I've grown so you can definitely hear the change immediately. It's still me but there's growth there." says Nivea. Her new album Complicated, which is due to hit stores May 5th, speaks to the complexity of the female perspective. Her first hit single Okay pays tribute to independent women who work hard at all the roles life brings their way and reminds them that its okay to take time out for themselves and hang with the girls.

Obviously practicing what she preaches, Nivea is making sure her career and future are okay by playing a large role in the business aspect of her career. " Dream, my hubby, is a major contributor of the record and we did the majority of the record together, so I am definitely all up in it!". Other contributors were Lil' Jon, Jermaine Dupri and R Kelly. She also was executive producer of her self entitled debut album that had such hits as the Grammy nominated Don't Mess With My Man and Laundromat featuring R Kelly. Although she's only 23, she has been in the business long enough to know that it takes more than talent to be on top. She wants to remain knowledgeable and savvy in every area of her career.
