A Real Princess

Ciara is the new "It" girl of Hip-Hop and R&B. She's young, talented and began blazing a trail almost instantly. She's a singer/songwriter and is connected to big names like Jazzy Pha, Little John, and Sean Austin. She appears in all the right places, performing on main talk shows, TV specials and presenting at major award shows. That is a lot to tribute to a woman of 19, but Ciara is confident she can handle everything on her plate, describing herself as "mature" for her age. She's already been in the business for five years and has lived in Texas, Germany, New York, California, Arizona, Nevada and Atlanta.
Ciara put her name on the map with 'My Goodies', and soon followed with the hip shaking hit '1,2 Step'. Her self-entitled album is only her first venture but it has already made her a household name. Her newly gotten fame has donned such titles as the "Princess of R&B", "The First Lady of Crunk&B", etc., but Ciara insightfully disagrees with being given any labels so early in her career. "Other people have given me titles. I don't want to be called the first lady of anything, or the princess of Crunk&b. First of all, being called princess came about because that is my real middle name; it's on my birth certificate. I think it's too soon to be called a princess of something. It's only my first album but I've been fortunate enough to do something new; setting a trend feels good."

Besides many blessings, Ciara contributes hard work, commitment, and determination to her unraveling success. Even in a high pressure industry she stays positive. "I don't like the word pressure. This is definitely an intense business and you have to be mentally ready. It's all about staying focused." Ciara believes she brings something fresh and new to the game. With her mixture of soulful music with a hip hop beat you can dance to, she also feels it's important to be positive and inspire others with her music and image. "There are a lot of crazy things [going on] in the teenage world right now, and I'm a part of that teenage, twenty something crowd. These days' things are going way too fast, and with every thing that is happening, if I can help others to be positive [I will]. We are all human. I have the same problems as everyone else and we all go through the same things."
Ciara says she's grateful for all she has accomplished and doesn't plan to slow down anytime soon. She has several promos lined up and is set to tour next year. She's currently working a lot of smaller venues with different artist like Ja Rule and Fat Joe. She's also in the studio working on her second album. When it comes to her career in the future, Ciara feels the sky's the limit. "I have so many dreams, so many aspirations and so many goals. It's very important to set goals. If I could give any one advice it would be to set goals. Also, make a plan to execute those goals. I want to get into acting; modeling... I just have a lot of things on my list!"
